Not sure about the crossed spanners though.

The crossed spanners are a symbol of the ongoing struggle for supremacy between European and Jap marques. The fact that the spanners are open ended also serves as a poignant tribute to rounded nuts across all makes.

Actually my graphic designer colleague whipped that part up as I was really busy at the time!

I'll consider your suggestions when I'm working on #2!
