Difference between 87 and 89 KX250 engine.

I've got a KX250G which I believe is an 89. It needs a stator and full rebuild. I've come across an 87 motor and was wondering if anyone knew what the difference was between the two.

it will fit..the 2 motors have a different bore and stroke and cylinder
