Is it way too small? A bit of work with the heat gun or hot water could soften it enough to fit if it's close. Maybe some rubber friendly grease as well.

Looks more like a `80 model G to me...single leading shoe brakes, G graphics on tank and prob 38mm forks

Nice bike though

H model 250 only had single leading shoe. It was the 465 that had the twin leader. Need to see if it has a boost bottle or not as they came out on the H. It could be  a G though the way the throttle cable goes through the front numberplate.

It's got a G tank but in the add it says it's a 5 speed which would make it a H. Hard to tell whether it's got G model 38mm or H model 43mm forks.

Doesn't have the whirlpool throttle(one with the clear top) either. Looks more G than H. Maybe a G with a H motor or something. Still looks a nice bike though, wouldn't really matter if it was either model.

Never been restored eh  ::)  I guess replacing things with new stuff repainting things and going over the whole thing is not restoration  ::)
Looking for YZ250C parts NOS if possible

The only triple jumps he would have been doing are the hop, skip & jump.
