Early 125 mx

By 1970 many companies were producing off the salesroom floor mx bikes, that is, machines that were purpose built for competition and didn't require the removal of lighting etc. These were in the main 250cc and larger, 2 and 4 stroke. How many factories were producing 125cc 2stroke machines that weren't some form of dual purpose either for street or trials use in or prior to 1970? Not many

there were loads of Euro models 125cc down to 50cc that were purpose built MX'ers and enduro. The japs may not have been on the band wagon by that time with no 125cc world gp to contest but the Europeans were. Simonini, Sachs, Gilera, DKW, Zundapp and others. There was a really good site with loads of photo's of sub 125cc enduro and mx bikes but I can't find it now I want it. I think NSR linked me to it once..may have been french or czech site..Noel?

not 1970 but this is a 1971 Aspes 50 is typical of the era..I reckon the early euro sub 125's are cool
