That cut and weld in the mid-section is interesting.  It reminds me a bit of the first banana bend type swingarms on maicos etc . It doesn't look backyard at all.

It's a nice job but I wouldn't pick it as factory.

For a factory job I'd expect the swingarm to be bent then braced rather than cut and welded and I can't see any point to the plating around the shock mounts. I'd think the original triangulated tube would be stronger and lighter.

Still an interesting frame though

I decided to grab it, cheap enough and looks like a bit of VMX history. have enough bits lying about to build it into bike.
