pe 250c intake manifold
« on: October 25, 2010, 09:46:40 pm »
Hi there. My PE250C  intake manifold has split, a common occurence i think! It is the triangular 3-bolt type.
Are they still available from Suzuki? Or is there a modification I can do to fix my split one?
Cheers, Shane :)

Shane,
Still available from Suzuki however there are a couple of things that you need to be careful of with these manifolds.
1. Only use a clamp that fits in the moulded recess. If they are too wide they clamp down on the wrong part of the carburettor spigot and split the manifold.
2. Keep truck wash away from them. The rubber, or whatever product they use, doesn’t seem to cope with the modern day chemicals.
3. And the obvious one, don’t over tighten the clamp.

I have made an adaptor out of alloy that accepts a later style manifold but it’s a lot of root’n around to get around something that is still available from Suzuki for ½ the effort.

I have a 'very near new' RM400C manifold excess to my needs. (PE250C RM250/370/400 up to 1978 used the same manifold) $20 +postage.

new part 'I think' is somewhere around $60 :-\
