Flat slide Ei 38 carby on CR250 1983
« on: October 26, 2010, 04:58:44 pm »
Gday Gents,
Just picked up a 83 cr250 it has a flat slide Ei carby on it. Can anyone tell me if they are good bad or ugly? Should i just put a mikuni on it instead. This seems like a very simple unit its held togeather by spring buckle things not screws???

Any help appreciated.

I have just fitted one(EI 38) to my RM 125 B it was really easy to tune. just top end first (different needles)then adjust the needle hight to suit the snap open etc.
Has it been tuned to the bike already?
If in doubt ,WIND IT OUT

It is a fairly heavly ported and played with 125 . It has average bottom (think RM S ) a massive hit midrange and a screeming top end. I just hope it holds together for this season. If our tracks are like last year ( very tight ) i will put the 34 mikuni back on it.(Which took ages to jet in comparsion to the Ei)
If in doubt ,WIND IT OUT
