I LOVE  speedway too now !! that was very informative,so much better with a simple clip like that to understand.
I'm surprised Charlie didnt pick up more speed with the wind blowing during the clip.    
The noise of that bike was like a lion waiting to be realeased

   What's not to love about speedway! no brake's- no gears ,0-100 in under 3 seconds  4 laps at full noise , how close they race SIDEWAYS,   IMO one of "if not" the purist of motorcycle racing discipline's and made in oz !

actually there has been a few Sheila Speedway riders over the years from Fay Taylour onwards. i even raced against one myself. there is a clip on youtube about a Polish Bird ( who is quite a looker).

bring the big price money back into speedway here in australia, and you will see speedway take off in a big way around the country.

yes it would be nice Dave, but sadly most of the venues are gone and replaced by clay pan sprint car tracks. Melbourne show grounds track is gone as is claremont and the ekka to i believe. the glory days are well behind us unfortunately.
