Narrogin feedlot closure - anyone in WA?
« on: September 19, 2010, 07:59:09 am »
This is way OT from VMX, but as a skeptic of global warming I read a few blogs etc aboiut the topic. One of those is Watts Up With That.Today he has a story about a feedlot operator in WA who's being pushed to closure by what sounds like unreasonable government actions. Watts is seeking donations to help the Thompsons. I've read of this case before on Jo Nova's site, and I am afraid it's got my spidey senses tingling.

Anyone in WA live around Narrogin that has heard of this case and can offer some insight? I've read a heap of letters from locals that were published that make it sound like the feedlot was a major problem for them.

Graeme M,Steven said he saw it on TV but thats all, didnt take much notice.
The business looks as if it was running 6000 head but wanted to expand to 15000 ...big jump up for a small town to deal with.
Amazing that the piggery is still running and a vmx track with a 150 odd pre75 racing around.. :o
World gone mad for some local folk  ::) damned if you do and damned if you don't. :(
Wish I had spotted this before as I would have asked the six odd Narrogin members we had at mx today..Will ask at next mx in late October if I remember.
cheers Alison
Best is in the West !!

Ta for that Alison. All sounds a bit funny to me, I'd reckon a feedlot so close to town would be pretty average for the townsfolk. I'm not convinced that the Thompsons are quite the hard done by innocents they are being made out to be...
