MX360A removal and replace rear wheel bearings

I don't have the correct "bent" tool.  How do i go about it

ruin an old screwdriver......
use a piece of 10mm round bar.....
poke tongue out side of mouth.........
swear a little when convienient.....
enjoy the experience....
then post dumb stuff like this when someone needs help.....

get a 10mm dyna bolt at put it in and tighten it then use a 10mm bolt from the other size but also if you heat them up so when you spit on the area near the bearings it sizzles they just drop out and then with heat the new ones just drop in I have just done it to my gt80 hubs today you can use a hot air gun or I used a map gas torch to heat them up.

refresh my memory Vandy was it left for drive side and right for brake side? or have i got it arse about ???

Good call Frosty, the alloy expands quicker than the bearing steel and they will indeed drop out.

if you drift them in/out cold you can risk the housing becoming loose after multiple changes over time.

you know what Mx250, i have been knocking bearings in and out for 40 years now and your idea it the most simplest and straight forward "nice" way i have seen congrats on the heads up, bloody fantastic.  I still use a "metal ended" screw driver with the blade ground off, lets me get down in there at an angle and tap it out (my Dad gave it to me already modified back in the mid 70's), new bearings i put in the fridge for an hour with the wheel/hub in the sun, or heat from a heat gun,(I NEVER use real heat on old casting), goes in easy.  ONE THING THOUGH, i wouldnt knock it in that way, you need a drift to tap the outer of the bearing otherwise shorten the new bearing life as the balls and bearing surface take the whacks!

Off to Bunnings to get some dyna bolts for the next one.

Take it out this way screws the bearing!!! You can get a couple of uses out of the dyna bolt.

A bit of heat to reduce the tension on extraction and insertion isn't a bad thing.

A similar size socket makes a neat driver to tap/insert them.  ;) :).

There ya go, I've been doing this old bike shit since the bikes were new and I've never seen the dynabolt method before. Genius Frosty and Graeme ;D.
This is the first forum tutorial that I've actually learned something new without having to go out and spend shitloads on upmarket tools. More please. :)

I heard it from Greame first I haven't had to use it heat seams to work a treat.

i use the old bearing to tap in the new one as its exactly the same size. assuming that the baring sits flush with the housing and not recessed
