83 husky base gaskets

   Hey guys,does anybody know the correct base gasket material for 83 'huskies ,and whether you can make your own sucessfully or not,do they come std in different thickness's?mine seems to be 1.25mm with metal sandwiched between the fiber. if so where's best place to get it? any help or tips greatly appreciated cheers huskibul

Hi there huskibul, they are around 1.25mm thick and it does have a sandwich look about it. I have been getting parts from Husky parts UK, they are quick and the prices are good.  HL

hi, make sure you get the correct gasket or material to make it. i have in the past cut the gasket out of standard gasket paper and it has blown out.

   Yeah thanks fella's,still like to know i i could knock them up myself, rather than chase them every time i want to check/clean or replace top ends,surely you could get the same or similar material,it's the cutting out with the metal in it thats the unknown for me, any thoughs much apreciated :)
