Newby needs a bike!!! Brisbane area
« on: June 02, 2010, 06:50:19 pm »
Hi all,
I finally got around to joining this forum, I have a couple of bikes but not vintage.
I have been riding for about 25yrs, and love the odd race day but I cant keep up with the young blokes any more so I will put together something of the appropriate age, and go and have some fun.
If any one knows of a cheap project bike or goer for up to $1500 I would be very keen to have a look.
I weigh 110kg so i need at least a 250cc. I am not real fussy on the brand although I do lean towards SUZUKI. I like PE's

Anyway im glad to be here and hope to meet a lot of you at the track. Im going to Nudgee on Sunday and cd7 next week cant wait.

I live in Kallangur Brisbane North.

Cheers Brian

Hi Brian,
Welcome aboard!  I am only new myself.  I'll keep an eye out for any bikes that pop up but it's good to see you going to CD7 as there are a lot of bikes there that change hands and go home with different owners.  See you there.
Cheers,
Gary

^^^
they're a dangerous lot Brian.
i'll be at Nudgee on sunday too champ.
the first time i went there as a spectator before i got an old bike,
i was pleasantly gobsmacked as i watched the first race take off!
it was the pre~75 125 class.
looking along the start line, i saw all these beards with smiles coming from under thier helmets.
the bikes rattled worse than a tin can full of bearings in a teenage boys hip pocket
and when they took off i remember thinking i could walk quicker than that.
it's a great place to grow old thats for sure!
i'm bike #789, feel free to say g'day.
cheers!
Mick.
