difference between 250 and 125
« on: December 04, 2007, 07:21:36 am »
Hi guys
What is the difference between an 83 125 and 250
I know the 125 engine has the chain and kick on the "correct" side, the 125 has a single leading front shoe and the forks are smaller diameter.
but are the shocks the same as well as chassis, swing arm etc
CR480rd
CR250rd
plus years of collecting 83 Cr junk

as far as i know the swing arm from the 250 is about an inch longer  the frame is the same more height and longer the rear shock is a heavier valved unit
im not sure on the front shocks i think on 125 and 250 they are the same diametor but different valving  in the heavier bike

Front forks are smaller diameter in '83. In '84 they went to same diameter throughout the range with different spring rates etc. I have a 125 '83 and they are definitely smaller than 43mm
