PE400 Wheel Hub Offset

Hi guys I need some help,

I have recently rebuilt the wheels on my PE400 and they turned out a treat. I want to upload the photo on my profile but cant work out how without having a good look into it. The problem is I respoked the wheels and polished the rims but failed to measure the offset before taking the bolt cutters to the old spokes. I have now rang the bike shop to have them retension the spokes for me and they want this piece of info. Does anyone have this measurement or able to measure it on there bike for me???

Call JTR (TITMANS) in QLD, and i'll bet they have it in their large store of knowledge.

Next time, if you dont want the spokes and nipples can you save them for me as im always looking for original spokes and nipples  
offset by the way is central on front and rear. From memory the front is 12/13mm with original rim.

I used to save the old spokes but after sitting down forever undoing 72 of the rusted buggers I tend to take to them with the bolt cutters these days too only thing I hated more than the suffering of freeing them up for removal was the re-plating..never again! I buy new these days. $100 per set is a lot cheaper and less stressful than the 2 days it took to re-plate the spokes and goldbrite the nipples once pitted re-plating is a total waste of time as it accentuates the pitting and looks woeful :'( I'll keep you in mind if I ever do any PE wheels Leith

I always get them replated if they are still ok and not pitted. If they are just dull grey or have light surface rust they come up just asd good as new. The key is the preparation work before sending to the platers and i also get them to plate them as i couldnt be stuffed to muck around with plating kits. I also hate stainless steel spokes on VMX/Vinduro bikes, and havent found an aftermarket supplier of butted spokes in zinc plated steel so thats why i prefer the originals.

so what's wrong with stainless steel spokes

I dont like the look of them on dirt bikes and plain steel is stronger, but thats just me, i dont expect the majority to agree. To me SS spokes are kind of like a fashion or in thing. You see it all the time when guys go nuts over SS fasteners on their bikes.
