Hi guys, question, what year did Mr Motocross go from open bikes to 250's

I think it is (well my Brother Brett said it was) 1985, that would make it Jeff Leisk that won the first 250.

Is this correct??

And to keep the threat going a bit longer,

Name your all time best Mr Motocross race (or event)

Best all time rider

Best all time track

Me well can't go past Anthony Gunter in 1979 winning on the factory Suzuki
Best ride Jeff Leisk
Best track Toowoomba

For straight out competition, the early years at Tivoli were fantastic. I don't recall seeing the races in NZ but I reckon they would have been good too.

Yes JL won the first 250 title. would have been 85 as by 86 he was state side.

The Gall/Gunter era is the golden era of MrMX for me.
They were the best for me although I always wanted Pace,Willoughby,Smythe,Landman,Hill, Pelle  to beat them.
Wallan was better than Broadford , other than that I  went  -Oran Park in 1980.The Atmosphere was awesome but I didnt think much of that track.
That track at Canberra was good to ride also but the hospital there was shit!
Never went to Toowomba but lokked great in the pics.
