Directions to Santarena Park, Bridport, Tas.
« on: June 10, 2010, 01:41:35 pm »
Hi all,

This message is mainly aimed at Tassie riders, and those in the Launceston Motocross & Scramble Club.

I'm after a bit of guidance regarding getting to Santarena Park, Bridport. I was think of heading up there to have a watch on either 20th June for the club day, or 2nd/3rd July for the TMX champs rd4.

I'm based in Hobart and was going to head up the Midland Highway to Lonny. Then head east on the A3 until I got to Scottsdale. Then I was going to head north on the B84 towards Bridport.
My question is: How do I get to Santarena Park from the B84? Will it be well signposted, or do I need to look out form a particular road to turn onto etc?
I tried to use google map using "Santarena Park", but got no map to refer to.
All help gratefully received. :)

Regards,
Nathan (HBS)

Hi Nathan,
Easy one to find (but I do know my way)
head to Launceston once in Lton, head towards Georgetown, turn right about 10 km from Gtown and head towards Bridport about 60 km about 3 km from Bridport at the crossroads head right towards Scottsdale 9km track is on the left about 50 mts off the main road.

If you would prefer head to Launceston, turn right at the Kingsmeadows turn off (5 km before Lton) follow the road to StLeonards about 6 km follow signs 60 km to Scottsdale once in Sdale turn left at crossroads and head towards Bridport 9 km track on right

Racing on the 20th and the Tasmania Championship are modern bikes only ( this is our major money raiser for the year) but we would be happy to see a new face to perhaps help out, just ask for Fatboy when you get there ( everyone knows me) or give me a call 0438568092 if you get lost or would like to know anything else.

Cheers

Fatboy
ps I will be Clerk of the course for both events so I will be easy to find

Great, thanks for the directions.

Not sure which weekend I can make yet (might even be able to attend both). But happy to wave a flag/knock in posts/lift/shift etc if required.

Cheers,
Nathan (HBS)

We wait in anticipation of your arrival, well your disciple Fatboy-Slim is having his comely wench kill a beast in your honour and fill the fridges.  though knowing Rossco the poor bugger will have something go wrong, seems to be his lot at the moment.  I believe he's riding this weekend so will see him on Sunday

Oki Doke, I'll give you a call when I know what my availability is to find out what time the meetings start.

Tossa, thanks for the piccy. I'll be able to recognise Mr F Racing by his beard now. ;)
