hahaha - makes sense now.   ;)

Yeah, looking at the Yamaha's I figured 77/78 after I posted, but on the back of some is written that taken when I was 12 (1976)...

provinence on that photo should be easy - what year was the QLD MX Champs held at Echo Valley?  Was Gunter entered as Number "N1"?  Instant answer....   ;)

Those shots at Echo Valley are from Mountain Man '77.
The shot of Gally and Gunter together is Mr MX Tivoli '78.

Cool, knew someone'd know...   ;D

I suppose Gunter would have been running N1 in Mountain Man too?  ACU QLD event...  ::)

Thought the track looked a bit rocky in that one of Gall and Gunter..   ;)  Just don't remember taking it at Tivoli.  Where on the track would it have been though?  My memories of the track layout are confused by practises and racing there in the '90's and early '00's....  with the trees in the background looks like it must be the back straight area..  Did they run in the opposite direction then to the later years?

That looks like it's over the quarry jump on the back straight going the opposite direction it goes now.

Doc i'm 100% behind you on the swingarm issue. I KNOW they used the alloy optional arm in '77, i was there.

IT , we ran the Qld titles on te sidecar in 1986 and that was the first ''uphill'' start, before that it went downhill and counter clockwise over the quarry which is now a stepup table top thing heading south.
The first time over the quarry on the Norton Wasp with Vern Grayson was an eye opener for an 18yr old lad I can tell you. I wasn't allowed to close my eyes though. :o
