vmx FAQ
« on: December 14, 2007, 01:58:15 am »
Hello, is there an FAQ on vmx page that has general information such as classes of racing, eligible bikes and different racing locations and any other info to help get a new racer out there

Thank you

No there isn't but it's a good idea. I'll see if I can rustle one up. A lot of that info can be got from the MA manual (MoMS) and from the various club's websites. But putting it all together in one page somewhere on this site would be useful, I'll try to do one up. In the meantime if anyone has some info about their particular club, please post it here and I'll use it to put in the FAQ...

Hessam69; I'm starting racing anew in '08 and I'm chasing similar info.
I've gleaned loads of helpful info from this forum and the members are forthcoming with answers to questions.
Tap a word into the forum search bar and you'll find old questions and answers and threads to just about every question you might have.
On the home page you'll find the race calender; the calender has links to several Clubs.
I've clicked on these and it's amazing the info you can pick up from their forums and side links.
Good luck; and what bike do you have?
"Whadaya mean it's too loud?! It's a f*ckin' race bike!! That pipe makes it go louder - and look faster!!"

Hi wombat I have a 2003 Honda CT110 modified postie bike

I live in Sydney and I shall hope to race at all the meetings in NSW, I just wish I knew where all the tracks were! I need my racing licence too  ;)

HEAVEN uses the following tracks:

Mt Kembla (Wollongong).
Fairbairn (Canberra).
Crawford River (Buladelah).
Clarence (Lithgow)
I forget because I've had beer (Singleton).

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

HI Hessam,
classes are generally run along the lines of the MA  GCR's section 18
http://www.ma.org.au/Content/MA/NewsEvents/2007racingcalendar/FormsRules/Generalcompetitionrules/Manual_of_motorcycl.htm
at any event some of the classes may  be combined Dependant on entries for that class.
