Suzuki fork damper valves
« on: April 17, 2010, 06:26:54 pm »
I removed the damper valves from a pair of Suzuki PE175 fork legs and found the valves were installed facing in opposite directions in each leg. Does anyone know which way they are supposed too face?

These are the valves that are mounted in the bottom of the fork tubes, they're normally held in with a circlip although some later ones are crimped in place.
The assembly consists of a steel body with an aluminium valve sitting above it, then a steel cage sits above holding it in place. When the forks are assembled, the rebound spring mounted on the damper rod rests above it.

Any assistance with which way these should face would be a great help. I'm thinking they were assembled this way from new.
