I have a 84CR250 and have tried an Ohlins on it .They are better but the Ohlins didnt have a comp adjuster on the reservoir .So track tuning was limited ,hence I bought this shock that supposed to be of an 84cr500 but its not its 83 cr480(or 250) It ha a real heavy spring also suggesting a 480.
84 spring rates were softer
There were just as many WP as ohlins on the GP circuit in the 80's .The main pain with the WP is the stupid regass setup but I changed that to Ohlins type.
Hoony is one guy that I know has a WP on his 500 - looks to handle real good
