Hello,
Searching for some advice from fellow Triumph enthusiasts. Is it fair to assume that most of the early Triumphs should have matching engine and frame numbers. If they don't match it is likely that the engine or frame have been changed at some time. Am I barking up the wrong tree?
Reason being, I am looking at purchasing a very nice original 1968 Boneville but the numbers don't match - which, as far as I am concerned, will affect the sale price and its future value.
The owner is of the opinion that not all Triumphs came out of the factory with matching numbers - is he correct?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Regards, Ron
