'73 250 final drive
« on: January 18, 2010, 03:44:58 pm »
I just picked up a '73 CZ250 enduro. It has a huge 17t front srocket on it, can anyone tell me the standard gearing and/or the MX 250 gearing please?
Cheers,
K

M,
Believe it or not, std was (listed as) 18/52 - & (surprise, surprise!) they were waaay overgeared, making the large gap between 1st & 2nd appear much worse.

Later Desert Racer using the same engine ran 15/52

Thanks John, I'll use 15/52 as a starting point.

Running a 988 motor in VMX go down to a 13t front will bring the overall gearbox ratio closer a 15t is still way overgeared for MX

I have new 61T available -  if you don't change the c/s sprocket it will give you acceptable gearing.
WANTED. Canams;all models,complete or parts.SWM stuff too!
