These guys had a crack at the Dakar a few years back. Outfit certainly looked the goods but if you look at the gearing, the primary sproket must have been doing plenty of revs at 100mph so it looked the weak link to me.
They rounded it off on the first leg and DNFed on the first competitive in Nth Africa. It's agreat story though and well worth a read.
Not many teams have ever been good enough to beat the Dakar, 1 or 2 maybe.
