Fitting Con-Rods and truing C/weights
« on: October 22, 2009, 12:59:27 pm »
Does any-one know of a reputable shop in the Newcastle area who can assemble crankshafts in-house. I am sure any bike shop can "get it done" but I'd prefer to cut out the middle man, freight etc.
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by journalists and politicians, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

There's a bloke named Dave Hall who does a lot of crank rebuilding for the Classic and Post Classic road racing fraternity around Newcastle.  I've never heard anything other than good reports of his work, whether standard rebuilds, or specials with altered strokes etc.  I think he may also do re-bores and similar engineering work.
Don't have his number, but ask around and you'll find it for sure.  He's well known.
Cheers,
Nitram
