Engine builders - YZ465
« on: October 20, 2009, 06:34:17 pm »
Hi,

Im in the midst of building a YZ465G 3r5 for flat track racing with the kids.  I got two bikes in bits and strangely enough one of them came with a NOS barrell and head.  Easy to get rings for as I noticed they dont get bids on Ebay for std pistons and rings. lol

I'm looking for someone to build the motor that can be recommended.  I'm in Canberra and have put a 490 back together from a box but dont want to do this one.

Thanks,

Stephen

Cant recommend as they haven't done any work for me, yet,  but there is MMT Motorcycle Services >> 4 East St Granville 2142, NSW.  They are doing some older bikes.  Just around the corner from me, Visited there business & spoke to the guys a few months back and they seem well prepared and knowledgable.  Originally recommended to me from Neville (Heaven).

Chivos is also around the corner (Granville), but he is more sidecar, and roadracing (and excellent wheelbuilder).  20 Crescent St Granville, 2142.

Thanks,

The 490S I rebuilt shakes the heck out of the bike.  I owned a 490L when it was new and it didnt act like that... lol I suspect I have knocked the crank out a bit.
