Long story short..........'83 KDX 250....Stolen '84... recovered and sold at police auction.....new top end, wont start, put away in shed...drag it out in '09, still wont start, f&%$%#@ the thing off!!........ring!ring!.."you want this thing, come and take it "

             

                 

     looks like a crook stator or the magnets are loose on the flywheel...........gotta love non-mechanical dickheads  ;D ;D ;D

..........first question:what do the correct sidecovers look like ?
                           :which model had the sidecovers like the 175 had ?

I also have a NOS green fender extension made for the exact front fender you have on it aswell.

You may have given this NMD an idea...  ::)

I believe the 80 KDX250 was twin shock, so the 81-82 250s must have had the sidecovers you refer to. I'm sure you could make those sidecovers fit yours.

Maybe they were using it for Trials ::)

Those sidecovers look correct for the 83

In my great quest for a 175 flywheel I came across a flywheel at Windsor wreckers that sounded like what I wanted but the numbers proved it to be an 83 KDX 250 flywheel, they may have a stator as well.

  DC have the side covers I'm looking for,I'll check out the electrics first and the give windsor a call if I need them.
  Pete, I know where theres another early 250 thats been sitting in this blokes backyard if you're looking for one to make a special out of.

Wrong headlight for a 200, but everything else screams KDX200B1/B2.
