Melbourne news promo for Mr MX in early 80's where goof and others rode across Melbournes Westgate Bridge.

Goof even pulled a nice mono on the Big RM 500.  Classic stuff can never imagine this today.

though a few years back Webber drove the F1 across the Bolte!

General Discussion / Bruce Springsteen - true rock legend
« on: March 29, 2013, 09:49:49 am »
Saw Bruce at rod laver 2 nights ago played 3 hours non stop with no support act rolled out the early  classics born to run, jungleland, tenth avenue freeze out, Lost in the flood, etc as well as later stuff Dancing in the dark right up to wrecking ball latest album. awesome mind blowing gig. completely sold out show, even all the seat BEHIND the stage.

if anyone has tix to last 2 oz gigs at Hanging rock in Vic you are in for a treat.

hard to imagine any of the new generation fakes and wannabees playing a 3 hour show at 64 let alone still playing after 45 years.

General Discussion / Yamaha SC500's info wanted
« on: December 24, 2012, 04:44:19 pm »
I have a mate who is collecting big bore Yamaha Mx'ers. he has Mx360, yz400, yz 465, yz490 and a few others in the collection.

The SC500 seems an oddity to me (SC model designation, not YZ or MX are they 71 era around the time of RT1's etc?) its before my time so i know little of them other than they were prone to seizure apparently.

my question is where does the SC500 come in the family? what years were they made, and were they marketed as production mx bikes or other?

fill me in on the details Yamafans

Vintage Track / WANTED - IVAN MAUGER AUSTRALIAN LONG TRACK GP VIDEO
« on: September 19, 2012, 09:38:50 pm »
WANTED - IVAN MAUGER PROMOTED AUSTRALIAN LONG TRACK GP VIDEO FOR 1989 & 1991  AT BATHURST SHOWGROUND

BEEN AFTER THIS ONE FOR A FEW YEARS NOW.

as the title says i would like to get a copy of the  above years on either VHS or DVD. i know the 1991 tape exists but not sure about the 1989 event (has Simon Wigg as the major drawcard and i want it for this alone, spectacular racing) i had the 1991 event on VHS but lost/loaned it never to return, i have the 1990 event.

i even approached Ivan and i was happy to pay costs and he promised me a copy, but to my MAJOR disappointment he blew me off after he got a copy of the 1990 event on DVD which i transferred from VHS & sent him gratis (saving him the trouble)

THANKS IVAN, I EVEN BOUGHT YOUR BOOK.

Kawasaki / 1989 KX500 OEM Jetting Specs
« on: May 21, 2012, 11:48:29 am »
a mate has a new toy, its a 1989 US import KX500. its got a California spark arrester that is restricting it (its sounds like a 250cc enduro bike instead of a big bore MXer) and god know what specs in the Carb.

the carb may be ok once he gets rid of that horrible muffler/spark arrester, but just in case......

Anyone have the specs for Carby setup for a 1989 KX500 for a starting point ?

Demerit System

In the world of romance, one single rule applies:

· Sorry, that's the way the game is played.

Here is a guide to the point system:

SIMPLE DUTIES

must be something the server is doing automatically. i will be interested to see if this post has one.

EDIT

a Mate has advertised his CBR250RR roady on bikesales, he got a call from a bloke in Sydney who wants to pay by cheque and have the bike transported once he gets the owners licence photocopy and full details. i am sure there are plenty of CBR250RR's in Sydney to purchase.

i remember some scams that were/are going around, can anyone remember what the scenarios are and how they get your money after cheques or direct deposits are cleared though you bank?

it is NOT a pay-pal deal buyer wants to pay by cheque
