Australian National Classic and Post Classic Motocross Championships Cancelled for 2021
The Heaven VMX Club are passionate about our great sport, spirited dirt bike racing that focuses on fun, family and camaraderie. The planned 2021 Australian National Classic and Post Classic Motocross Championships was intended to be an opportunity to extend our arms to, and share our passion with, all VMX racers from around Australia. An opportunity to bring the whole VMX family together for a VMX Festival of Fun! The Covid 19 Pandemic is not playing ball though, and as every day passes it’s becoming very obvious that until the country of Australia gains an acceptable level of boarder stability and interstate travel predictability, the Festival of VMX fun we have in mind will not become a reality. When our club does run this event, we want to do it at a time when all VMX racers from around Australia are safe and happy to travel, and give it every chance to be the amazing event we have planned.
So for 2021 for the Heaven VMX Club, the Australian National Classic and Post Classic Motocross Championships is cancelled. With this news the organising committee are equally as disappointed as everyone is, we hope you understand though, this should be a truly national event, and until that can happen the time is not right to plan or run it.
We'd like to express a huge thank you to all those racers that have already entered and supported both events and the volunteer officials behind the scenes that have put everything into place. Over the next 2 weeks, all fees taken to date will be refunded through Ridernet and refunds will be finalised by Aug 8

The Heaven VMX Club of NSW is proud to announce 2021 dates are confirmed to run the Australian National 'Classic' Motocross Titles and the Australian National 'Post Classic' Motocross Titles at the same location, Nowra Motoplex, over consecutive weekends on 2 separate period correct tracks. An Aussie Nationals Double Header!

So save the Dates

Classic Nationals: July 9, 10 & 11

Post Classic Nationals: July 16, 17 & 18

For anyone who wants to make a week of it and take a few days in between exploring neighboring Jervis Bay, camping will be available at the track for the entire 10 day period and you are welcome to join us.

You heard it here first

It is with great disappointment we announce that for 2020, the Heaven VMX Club will not be running the 2020 Australian National Classic Motocross Nationals. To say the COVID-19 pandemic has brought chaos to our lives is an understatement, and unfortunately this event for this year is a casualty of the virus. This is a prestigious event, a true National event, and deserves to be conducted as one.
With the recent news and the uncertainty that brings for our Victorian family members, delays from border shutdowns meaning we have missed the window for our Western Australian family members to be able to organize the trip for this year, and the potential travel difficulties members of all other states might face, we feel the event would not be a true National, and in these extreme circumstances running it would not do the event justice.
This was a very difficult decision for us to make, and behind the scenes the Heaven VMX committee and the MA Classic Motocross commission have been working feverishly looking at every possible alternative to try to save the Nationals for this year, but in the end we feel the uncertainty of current climate was too great, and when the Nationals go ahead, the event must be given every chance of success with all racers from around the country given the opportunity to attend. Hopefully by 2021 we will be through the worst of these tough times.
A special thanks goes to Mick Hughes and Colin Metcher for the huge amount of time and effort they have put in for us. These gentlemen unselfishly do a vast amount of volunteer work on behalf of our sport that is very much appreciated by us and it is such a shame that for this event that time has been wasted

If you actually read the promotion blurb, it states huge camping area.  I have confirmed that camping is free of charge.

That's correct Mick. There is a huge flat camping area that runs down the whole length of the track overlooking it and you can see 70-80% of the action. There is hot showers and the canteen the track runs is the best on the NSW VMX circuit. This facility is a National Standard facility. A few years back they ran a round of the Modern Nationals with all the semis etc.

The operator of the faciility is super excited we chose his venue for this and is creating a track layout specifically for this event that will have fast flowing corners, and VMX friendly obstacles. The Heaven VMX members are pumped and all of a sudden the Post Classic riders are scrounging to find EVO bikes to add to their stables.

The Heaven VMX Club of NSW is pleased to annouce the club has taken on the challenge to run the 2020 Australian National 'Classic' Motocross Championships
Our club has a rich history in these older eras and the timing is right for the club to bring this prestigious event to NSW.

Dates: July 10, 11 & 12, 2020

Venue: Nowra Motoplex, NSW
Specially Prepped to be Classic Motocross friendly!
Huge camping area overlooking the track
Close to the town of Nowra

(The Nowra Motoplex is under new management this year and the new management are 'friends of the sport'. The Nowra circuit will be completely re-vamped specifically for this meeting with jumps rounded off or bypassed. The dirt is sandly and loamy and when it gets wet, gets better!)

More info to come, in the mean time book that time off for this very exciting event!

Merry Christmas to all you stalwarts on this forum. We're happy to see it still has a useful place in the ever evolving jungle of Social Media and numbers have steadily grown over the year. As we have discovered from our collective love of the old dirt bikes, sometimes the older, simpler and more basic model is more enjoyable and keeps its soul. Hope you are all having a great Xmas with your family, friends & loved ones and getting in some quailty R&R time

This time in 3 Months we'll be settling down around a campfire at RE019. Are you on track to have those bikes ready?
More importantly, how's your 80s fancy dress costume going for Saturday night's party?

Bracket racing classes are based purely on lap times, no mater what your riding. A little more tricky in mx but a similar system could be done. A novelty at least.?

Gotcha! I like it. thanks

*bracket racing just like in road race clubs? could be a good option to race people in your own skill level.
*the cost of racing is getting out of hand. It cost me $160 to race a grass track not long ago.
*non MA events?

By bracket racing do you mean something like A, B & C grades?

Was washing my air filters last weekend and the glue on 3 of 4 of them let go! I came to this forum and searched the term 'air filter glue' In minutes I found some great info on what has worked for others. The mighty RZ may still get a run this weekend  ;D
Kenneth, for those of us less ofay with searches and how they work, what did you use to glue your filters?

Thanks in advance

Greg the 2 answers I got was others have had success with good old fashioned Tarzan's Grip and the blue glue you use to connnect PVC pipes. I bought some of both today and will be trying it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes mate

Like everyone says: More races at Green Park, Connondale, QLD.
I would say the grass track that Armidale MC uses is better than Connondale for vintage bikes and it's in NSW where Heaven events are held.

Duly noted (Insert thumbs up here :D)
