Thanks in advance,

Wanted / Suzuki RM125S (1975) air filter element
« on: October 16, 2016, 02:27:53 pm »
Chasing a air filter element to suit a RM125S (1975) either OEM or aftermarket. They are slightly larger OD compared to the RM125M, Suzuki #13781-41701.
Anyone know of options that fit the original airbox?

Thanks in advance

Honda / 1981 XL250S
« on: February 08, 2016, 08:43:20 pm »
What's an easy performance upper for a 1981 XL250S without going down the big bore or cam work path?

I'm thinking carby and exhaust as the two obvious areas, any suggestions including details would be appreciated.

What would be a fair price to pay for a complete unrestored XT500 motor and supposedly a runner?

General Discussion / Riders from the past
« on: February 08, 2014, 02:27:16 pm »

I was recalling some of the good riders from the seventies with a mate the other day and the name Stan Veenstra was mentioned. Does anyone recall his achievements and whether he still plays bikes? He was Brisbane based and rode for several camps including Phil Phew Moto mainly on Suzuki RM125 and 250's.

My recollections of him was how nearly unbeatable he was on his RM125S and RM250A at Tivoli against all the top riders of the day.

Suzuki / RM125S Build
« on: November 23, 2013, 05:20:54 pm »
I started this project earlier this year from half a bike in a very sad state as shown below, what you see is what I started with.
It's had a complete rebuild of the motor including new conrod, reclaimed crank shaft at the rotor end, all new bearings, seals a rebore and new piston and rings.
I've added a few of my own hand made touches like the rear brake lever, engine mounts, chain giude, rear brake torque arm and complete exhaust.

Thanks to Ed for a barrel and head and front fork bottoms and Neil for selling me a tank and seat... these guys know who they are. Also thanks to Stewy (oldfart) for assistance with a bit of frame and rim straightening.

I had one of these when they came out in 1975 and thought if one came my way I'd grab it as a restoration project. It will line up in the garage next to my RM250B.
If CD's at Connondale next year, it will be there.

Prefer OEM before I look at aftermarket options.

Thanks

Wanted / RM125S "S" decal

Wanted / Suzuki RM125S Exhaust
« on: September 01, 2013, 01:30:54 pm »
I'm still chasing an exhaust for my 1975 RM125S restoration. I have asked on here before and a few came back with options to manufacture, Lozza and GMC to name a couple and thanks.
I still may go down this path but an original pipe would be my preferred option so if anyone has one of these hanging around that you're prepared to offload I would be keen to hear from you.
Dings and dents are not a problem, as long as it's repairable.

Thanks

Peter

PS I'm located in Brisbane if this helps.

Suzuki / RM125M Airbox
« on: May 25, 2013, 09:23:02 am »
What's the airbox boot diameter for a RM125M, I'm trying to identify an airbox I've picked up?

I think it may be off an M but I'm not sure, all i know is it's smaller diameter than the S box i have, are there other Suzuki models that have this style of airbox?
