Wanted / Parts glorious Parts
« on: January 04, 2015, 12:41:19 am »
With the advent of the Australia Post's  Australian post office in America you can now buy whatever you want in the States and Aus post will bring it back here for you! https://shopmate.auspost.com.au/our-services/how-shopmate-works

I just found this wrecker in the States that has a pretty big inventory with prices listed. He may even ship direct but I haven't ordered anything so have not asked...

Hopefully my find is not old mail.

I bought my yz about a month ago and have been taking a few pics and making a few notes along the way with a little app that uploads it straight to the web.
Here's the first five parts for everyone to have a looksy at my progress...

Manuals & Technical Doco / Service info for Yamaha's
« on: April 08, 2014, 06:54:32 pm »
Hi all
I stumbled across this site where some of the bikes have the service/tech data info as well as the exploded part diagrams.
Very handy for torque settings/ignition timing etc for the bikes Yamaha haven't made the service manual available online

Tech Talk / Yz80 k and yz125 s (1986) ignition timing in inches BTDC
« on: April 02, 2014, 03:54:47 pm »
Does anyone have a service manual  for a yz80k or a yz125s (86 model) and could be so kind to advise of the factory timing setting in thou or mm or degrees btdc for either of these two bikes.

I have a friend with a dial gauge and he is going to lend it to me soon.
Any help much appreciated.
They are currently timed with my trusty screwdriver :)

Introductions / newbie
« on: March 31, 2014, 11:44:24 pm »
Hi All
I have a yz80k   and a yz125s (the 86 one) that I'm tinkering with at the moment. Both recently purchased and needing work. The 80 runs and my son is 13 so thats his to play with and the 125 needs a top end rebuild before it goes anywhere. I'm 41 and haven't been involved with bikes since I was under 20.
I'm a sparky and enjoy the pulling to bits and rebuild process and riding them....so here I am. It would be nice at the end of the day to have a couple of old yz's shining in my cave :)
My knowledge is limited but I'm willing to learn a trick or two and happy to help where I can.
Cheers Pete
P.S I'm in Lara and work in Melb
