Tech Talk / Yamaha piston ID
« on: August 09, 2016, 05:53:13 pm »
I have a yamaha piston I need to identify it is marked 4V500, it came in an IT250D engine.
I need to get a set of rings for it, the top ring appears to be either slightly tapered or thinner than the bottom one.
Any part gurus have any idea what this is from.
I have looked at a yamaha parts list and this piston number does not come up?

Tech Talk / Tm250 main bearing LHS wear
« on: August 03, 2016, 05:34:33 pm »
My tm250 has quickly worn the lhs crank bearing.
It has had the oil system removed and as the outo feed passage seems to be directed to this bearing I am wondering is there a trick like drilling a hole in this oil passage so some of the oil being flung around may actually run down and supply a little more oil to said bearing.
Is this a common thing for this bearing to wear quickly without the oil system fitted.?

Vintage Track / Tyres & MOMS
« on: May 01, 2015, 11:13:35 am »
I had a visit from a gentleman who is affiliated with MA who came to run the tape over different brands of trials tyres and I was told that a submission is being prepared for MA in regards top to tyre dimensions and block sizes, spacing etc.
This should lead to some entertaining debate down the track I am sure,  ;) ;D :o
