Definitely an interesting bike for sure!

Jock's done a few more write ups on other bikes and spent a fair amount of time giving the Vinduro homepage a total makeover, looks sharp!

Amaqzing Weekend, a big thankyou to the organisers, the property owner, the officials and the medical crew.. everyone who made this event as great as it is !!

I completed 5 laps on the DT, only 2 drops on hill climbs and absolutely thrashed the old girl until I physically just couldn't do it anymore.

feeling it today but don't care.. Couldn't ask for better  8)

Wow has it been this long!

The first 465 has celebrated 10 years of ownership  8) I'd best update with both bikes current statuses!

the first 465 has been to every event I've attended, and it has gone through a few different guises over the years.. not one to leave something alone it has been refined to being a reliable steed but still in need of a little evolution..

with some US spec plastics and a trial of exhaust wrap which isn't a great idea.. it's quieter but hold water in creek crossings causing a sauna for a spell afterwards  ::)

10 years has evolved it into this:

still very much a bitsa, still a work in progress.. it's a bike however I can fuel up and hop on and go.. there are plans for new wheels and a fresh make-over.

the spare bike has evolved more.. and quicker

after a disasterous weekend where it lunched a clutch (assembler error.. not too proud to admit that ;)) it got the rebuild it deserved. the promise to turf the engine it had and build a fresh one was carried out.. an ebay purchase of an IT turned out to be IT in only frame and tank... turned out to be more YZ465H!

current specs:

YZ465H barrel and crankcase Wiseco piston
YZ490 gearbox and stator
IT465H clutch carburettor and head

a 10mm 'Griffo Engineering' reedblock spacer IT carb and airbox

a beautiful pair of wheels procured from 'Pro-Resto' in Windsor  ;)

DG pipe Via Prime 8 racing

Trail tech Vapour speedo, read off the rear wheel

Fat pro taper bars on new risers.. YZ465H top tripleclamp

Chinese pitbike footpegs

YZ426 kick arm on YZ490 kick axle

a YZ490J 15L tank special order in IT blue with a YZ250J seat with a smebike cover

and beautiful replica glass bodywork from a true enthusiast

it's such a bitsa.. it could have been built so many different ways but it's a product of what I had at had that could work the best

and such a first world problem when your bike is in a magazine... with someone else riding it ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cheers!

Luckily in NSW I can get a small bike fully registered and comprehensively insured for around $300. The rego will be taken off the DT and put on my PE175.

Looks like a great event that I definitely need to get to.. Whatever it takes to get there.

I'd like to thank the organiser's for an amazing event, the sights and sounds of so many bikes being used cannot be beaten!

I also saw one of my brother's old bikes on the weekend, still being used too!! the last I saw it was in the late 80's. amazing to piece it's history together, seems it's almost been raced constantly from new.

except the p%@*k who decided that after bringing a motor cycle rolling chassis to sell  leave's it there for us to get rid of!

What was frame was it? I had room to drag another project home with the barely rolling DT250 I'd picked up.. pretty rude leaving anything behind for others to clean up.

Cheers!

Amazing track and a well organised event, definitely worth making the effort to getting to

Home early had a slide on the grass track... one sore knee and a ripped off sidestand mount pulled my weekend up.

Cold!!!

I paid for my mate to go to Denman purely as a photographer, because no matter how I look at it I'm supporting an event that has been put on for us as riders to ride in, I could boycott it or not bring a mate if I didn't like the rules but what would the alternative be?

but don't get me wrong I can understand the issues raised, if this were an event I had to drive 10+ hours to attend to take photos my opinion on it would be much different, raising issues and discussing them means that small issues don't become major ones.

Cheers!

I think that ultimately it is up to the organisers of events to decide on how they are prepared to run an even, and for us as entrants to remember that it is an event to ride our old motorcycles in first and all other considerations should come seccond.

Cheers!
