G'day, My bike of choice at the moment is a Gas Gas EC 300 2t 2011, elec start, switchable cdi map, mazocchi and sachs suspension , exel wheels, fmf exhaust all standard from new and only 102 kgs compared to 112- 114 for the  450's, which is so good on the side of a hill, I'm not a fast rider I got it for the weight and the torque it's like riding a 4t , I can just pick my way slowly up a steep rocky more easily than the DR 400 I had before, which was also a great bike. They're cheaper than a ktm and much more pretty, I did a lot of research before buying and could not find a person who had owned one say anything but good things about them, strong reliable motor and parts are readily available. go the gas gas!

Hi, because I'm a bit thick I have a question, it says on the entry form $ 140 entry fee plus $20 for every class entered so if I'm entering just one bike in say the 125 class my  entry will be $160, but if I want to also enter a bike in the 250 class my entry fee will be $ 180 is that correct ?

hi, the rule book state's in rule 18.5.4.1 "Acceptable for the pre 75 class are machine's and components built up to and including 1974" , so why are modern electronic ignition systems , special valves in forks allowed as these "components" were not around in 74 .

thanks for your help guys, only thing is my coil doesn't have any terminals on it just a condenser attached to it with it's wire disappearing into the coil and only one wire coming out , also I'm getting rid of stator and fly wheel for less weight and so the engine can rev more easily. so does that mean I have to get a new coil with 2 wires or terminals on it and can that be a 12 volt now ? and how many amps should the battery be?

 Hi, I've got a 72 xl 250 and have been racing it for a while but now I think the stator has shit it self so I'm thinking of going total loss system, I purchased the bike already set up for racing, there are four wires all joined together near the coil, one from the stator , one from the coil, one from the points and one from the stop button and that's it, it has the standard coil which  has 6v moulded on it so I suppose thats 6 volt, so I suppose I have to use a 6 volt battrey, so can anyone tell how to wire it up and what size and type battery I need

Hi tim, yes you are completely correct on that point, I've just returned from holidays and found that someone has used my computer on this forum and mentioned something about two piece heads ? I didn't even know they made them ! I' m going down to the shed right now and check, if by some  chance they have broken into two pieces well I'll just weld them back into one, so there.

hi, both my xl125's have two piece heads and I've been racing them for years in pre 75 at club, state and national titles and no one has ever said anything at scrutineering as I don't think they offer any advantage on the track, only ease of rebuilding
