Vintage Track / Nepean's new layout. Come and Try Day
« on: November 10, 2016, 09:35:11 am »
Nepean Raceway has developed a new track layout that we hope will inject renewed enthusiasm in Dirt Track. The new track is vintage friendly and will suit all bikes except sliders and sidecars. The original layout is unaffected though so these bikes will continue to be catered for at future events.

Here is all you need to know about trying the new track for the first time.

AIR time at NEPEAN

City of Penrith MCC and Southern Motard are pleased to announce a new form of racing at the NEPEAN RACEWAY.

TT DIRT TRACK

Come and be part of this history making event.

Nepean raceway as you have never seen before.

Roy and John have placed jumps in specific locations and combined them with the current tracks to form the new

                        Nepean TT Circuit.

The Grand Opening will be a test day on the 4th December 2016

This event is open to Dirt Track – Supermoto – Enduro and MX style machines.

Either classic or modern – Seniors and Juniors

As per dirt track rules no knobby rear tyres permitted.

Recommended – Supermoto wet tyres  – MX - Enduro – Trials tyres

Air time at Nepean will be run under a MNSW  permit and riders will need a MA Licence or buy a Recreational licence for $30.00.

General Discussion / Re: RIP DJ racing
« on: January 17, 2016, 11:36:56 pm »
Ah fork.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Although I only met DJ once at a Conondale CD I can only say that every word that TM Bill says is how I found him. A true VMX'er in every way he will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with his many mates, from both sides of the ditch, and of course with his family.

RIP DJ Racing and roost well in Valhalla #78

For Sale / SOLD - Bultaco Pursang Mk7 1974
« on: October 19, 2015, 04:53:02 pm »
Due to a shift in my riding focus I will be selling a few bikes.

First off will be my very tidy Pursang.

This bike was built by Don Newell and since then I have added a Power Dyno ignition and Mikuni carb conversion. (original ignition and Amal included with sale).

Bike starts first or second kick every time and has had little use since rebuild. (1x Canowindra Grass track and a couple of Dirt Track meetings).

Ready to race and will not disappoint.

Bike is located in Sydney and I can deliver free of charge to Melbourne or Brisbane and all points in between.

$3,900 firm. Offered here on the forum and OZVMX Facebook page before going to Ebay/Gumtree etc next week.

Cheers

5 Days until entries close for The Barry Cockle Classic presented by Teknik.

Currently the feature event is looking fantastic with only 8 spaces remaining available on the grid.

And don't forget to get your chance at winning the auction for a Carbon Bell Moto 9 helmet that will be personally custom painted by Luke Hibberd of LA Designs as a tribute to Barry Cockle.

A big THANKS to Bell Powersports Australia who have kindly donated this one off helmet.

A great prize to be won & remember dig deep as all proceeds go directly to Wendy Cockle & her beautiful 2 young boys.

Bids are welcome to start before the day via e-mailing Julie at [email protected]

Cheers

Argh that would be me lying under those bikes. Was having an awesome day until then  >:( driving home to Sydney with a knocked up clutch leg was not much fun!

But it won't stop me from coming back for more next year  ;D

And hopefully we can repay the favour one day by hosting the Ellaspede guy's at an upcoming Sunday Slide.

This is devastating news to the faithful.

The club put everything into running this event as I know Canberra did last year. Oh well the tribe has spoken.

Well it is time to move on to other things I reckon. Such a shame that a sport that gives so much to those that participate is decimated by apathy.

Apologies for the rant but I am one pissed off dirt tracker!

Wal the blame for the delay can't be attributed solely to MNSW. This situation was bought about by a 'perfect storm" of issues that went far beyond Nepean or MNSW.

Anyway the licence is back and now we need to move forward with running some sorely missed events starting with this weekends Charity meeting.

Bring it on!!!

I agree tyres make a huge different. But if everyone is on the same type of tyre on OEM wheels then it is not a case of who has the deepest pockets to go racing.

I have entered three bikes this year. If I have to spend around 6K on oil setups for them just to be competitive I wont bother going. I reckon most would be in the same boat.

Although it's a title meeting it is still supposed to be fun for old farts  :)

Well I rode EVO250 in 2013.

My bike was on;

Michelin Trials Uni Rear
Shinko Trials Front (probably won't be running this tyre again this year though hahaha)

Managed a first in EVO 250 and a 2nd (on count back) in EVO 250 Under 49yrs

I can tell you that I don't recall going around the outside of anyone  :)

Really all this tyre talk shits me. Just put your trials uni's on and go race FFS. Hope to see plenty of you there!

Hi GDR could you explain who was going around who last time. In the classes I rode we were all on trials uni's bar one rider who maybe pushed the limits. Don't think it did him much good though  ;)

Don't think there will be any spots left on the day.

Response has been huge and numbers are going to be capped to ensure there will be plenty of track time for everyone.

So if you want to ride get onto The Jerkyls facebook page to buy a ticket. But you better be quick!

Cheers
