KTM / Re: KTM collection for sale
« on: September 03, 2016, 11:07:47 am »
CORRECTION ** Apologies for any earlier confusion as when I got the collection out this morning for updated pictures, realised only two frames not three.
1975 MX x 175cc. Good condition engine , black tank and fibreglass panels.
1976 GS x 250 cc Engine stripped down., corrosions in mag casing.  Red Enduro tank
Frames are two pac, colour matched grey.
Forks for both
Shocks for both, but extra set (?)
Good condition exhaust. One is very good nick.
One set of wheels for 175cc (?) .  Mud catcher rim.  Mirror polish, new spokes and refurbished.
Magnura handle bar off 1976 model, with NOS grips, levers etc.
Other parts.

Suggest can only say, bikes are 70-80%, please don't assume everything there.

KTM / KTM collection for sale
« on: August 31, 2016, 07:57:36 pm »
All, just in case, didn't see post in the for sale section.  Selling rest of KTM collection. Presently on Ebay and starting $500.  I think a few members picked up some earlier pieces but I never got around to selling the rest.  Loved the hobby but the items are wasted on me as doing other things.
email me for pictures if interested.  [email protected]

Have started selling all the pieces that don't belong to complete bikes over the next few weeks on ebay.  See my wife's "alwaysdifferent1" profile for whats there already.  Ohlins shocks, NOS brake cables, Forks, Speedos, handlebars etc etc.  She loves all the technical questions :)

For Sale / For Sale..Three KTM package 74,75&76

Ideal restoration project for vintage MX. Three very rare vintage KTMs in various states of disrepair. Years are 76, 75 and 74 (Serial Nos : 54 609 98315, 54 511 87245 & 54 406 79883) 125cc engine, 2 x 250cc engine and 1 x 400cc engine. Frames /swing arms have been restored with two pac , colour matched. No scratches or dents. One bike is progressed a little further then the others with wheels restored with NOS Metzeler tyres, polished Sun rims. One tank, side plates, air box, seat, handle bards, levers, grips etc, restored. Vintage renthal handle bar from the day is amongst the lots. I remember it come of the younger bike (76 GS) but not sure if this was original. Lots of NOS pieces. (ie. new handle bars, levers, cables, rubber sleeves). Some new moulded plastics. Also have one set original fenders decayed but mouldable. Also spent a lot of time on ebay back when purchased several years ago so various vintage pieces which don't belong to the bikes included as well. i.e. front forks from an 80 KTM model come to mind. The 175 / 400 engines were runners, complete. One of the 250 magnesium was decaying. (i.e. why I purchased another complete 250 motor from the states). Overall I would be confident that at least 90% of each bike is there. Not that I threw anything out, just two of the bikes weren't runners when purchased and had a piece or two missing. Complete package of three bikes only for genuine restorers. Save on hours and years of searching and start restoring these rare bikes straight away. Prefer not to separate.  Pictures on gumtree. Loacted Brisbane

Bruce..from your serial number I think it is a 73 manufactured in Oct..  the three numbers after the 54 is the year and month.  the  numbers after that are serial numbers which were sequential.  So it makes sense that if it was one of the original Australian Ktms it may not arrived in the country until early 74..  although per other comments from the experienced guys, the frame, tank colour etc give it away in any case.

Id be interest to know if the tyres are original and what brand?  Also are the levers mangara ?

If ever the original import papers come to light for the first lot of Ktms that arrived in the shipping container back in the day, it might confirm the actual original Australian versions which would be interesting.  I would assume it would also give those particular examples some "value"

I have some papers for my 77 model as it was a GS and the guy in townsville who I bought it off for some reason registered it at some point.

I share the view that they should be more valuable then the market is willing to pay, but perhaps like anything, its only worth what someone else is willing to pay you.

Agree with sentiment. Would prefer to sell to someone who knows.   Anyone interested PM me and I will send detailed pictures.

One thing i could never confirm is that the 76 stamped looked like a 77GS but it had an orange frame.  I always thought the orange frame didn't turn up until the next year. Perhaps the original owner painted it orange to look like a "new bike".  Under the orange there was the ktm grey.. so not sure. [All frames are restored grey].

Thanks for the interest gents.  Have about half dozen PMs already.. but I think for good sense I should sell as a lot.  Thinking about it, although probably more value piece by piece on Ebay, all of the pieces will end up everywhere.  I know that was always a frustration when I was looking.  Ideal if you can least get the majority of the bike.  So Ill get some pictures and much details as I can and reply to the PM's.

KTM / Cleaning out shed…1974, 75 & 76 KTMs
« on: April 12, 2014, 10:49:45 pm »
Story is, several years ago a I had good intentions.  In fact as I logged back on here I see its been quite a while....  Never-the-less, Ive recently moved and I have three KTMs in various states of disrepair. Years I think are 76, 75 and 74   (??Serial Nos : 54 609 98315, 54 511 87245 & 54 406 79883)  125cc engine, 2 x 250cc engine and 1 x 400cc engine.  The issue is that they are all in pieces and mixed up.  Im not sure I could confirm (without a lot of homework) which of the parts / pieces belonged to which bike.  So bit of a quandary on how to sell them.  You guys got any easy suggestions on the best way to sell them?  I was thinking ebay piece meal but given the number of parts and collection it would take a while. There is a mixture of NOS pieces as well.  Thoughts?

Apologies Gents for not replying earlier.  I had got busy after the original post and forgotten about it.  Please look for individaul replys to requests.

Also the 38mm forks and triple clamps are from a Pursang MK9 250 or 370cc and/or a Frontera MK10 250 or 370 cc.. So I am told by the Bultaco Parts guys in Victoria.  Good nick $200 for the lot if anyone interested.

76 / 400cc Engine is very good condition.  Very clean inside. Surface restoration would make it come up nice.  $600 if anyone interested

Need someone to identify the GS bike.  SN is KTM 8709*52546     Also a compliance place with some numbers and 400GS stamped on it.  So prob a 400 GS??

Regards Ash.
