I had one clown on EBay try to rip me off $20 after he promised to refund me the money for combined postage of 4 items That I purchased from him.   He totally ignored the messages I sent him asking for my refund.....I thought "this guy is a complete moron" as he had only made 6 other EBay transactions.   So what did I do ? I hit him with 4 lots of negative feedback...
We'll he responded real bloody quick after that and begged me to remove the negative feedback, which I couldn't do even if I wanted to......

Air box boot can be purchased on EBay from overseas, a little pricey though, but that's life.
I will be purchasing one myself soon enough. ..LYLE

I've got a few spare tanks in my garage, as I am doing up the same bike and also a Gold medal..(mk10), let me know what you need.   Those old fibreglass tanks deteriorate and need to be re- fibreglassed from the inside as well as the outside.    I've also got a spare seat with new cover. Regards lyle.

General Discussion / Re: Oz Local manufacturing
« on: December 12, 2013, 04:40:35 pm »
35 years ago when I left school anyone who wanted an apprenticeship could get one. Now they are few and far between. Manufacturing is on its arse in this country and will only get progressively worse.
The majority of people seem to think that only a minority of people are benefiting from the mining boom, which has been with us now for the past 10 years and of which I have been and still am a part of.
But just wait and see what happens when the Mining boom finally  comes to a grinding halt , and only then will we fully comprehend just how much the economy has been supported, carried, existing on, whatever you want to call it, by the Mining Boom.

When people put up stupid prices on EBay it's because they have already sold the Item but do not now how to remove it.

Spaniards (Bultaco, Ossa, Montesa etc) / $400 Montesa
« on: November 08, 2013, 08:09:52 pm »
Picked this up today.   From what I can gather it is a 1978 H6 Enduro. I dont know much about Montesa bikes except that they are an Ethnic cousin of the two 1978 Bultaco Frontera,s  that  I have in my garage.   Perhaps some of you MONTY boys could tell me if the bike looks original.
I found the following numbers...Compliance plate no.1798/750   with 1978 stamped on also.
                                                         Frame no.54M06519
And on the motor behind the front sprocket..3460002W
Not exactly sure what I am going to do with it, but it is a Spanish bike and they do have a unique and distinctive look about them.
The bike seems mostly intact but hasn,t been looked after to well, with a bit of damage around the front sprocket motor casing area.    It has an Amal carby .   I have no  idea what condition the motor is in, but it is not seized.    I might strip the bike down, throw everything in a box and get the frame blasted and resprayed...thats a start.
