IT is a 76  ts 400 with an orange tank, crank seals are still doing there job but havn't run it for real long periods only quick squirts up & down the street, speedo still works & shows 13,495 so if that is correct it hasn't done álot of work. Apart from a bit of noise coming from a hole in the pipe the engine sounds nice and tight & quiet  if you would like some picks pm me your mobile no or email and Ill send you some Cheers Lou

Suzuki / TS 250
« on: July 19, 2013, 05:24:48 pm »
I thought all you Suzuki nuts would like this one, The story goes like this, Yesterday I was heading home from Cairns to Bingil Bay when I decided to call into a farm in Gordonvale where 20 years ago I fitted a clutch to this old fellas Inter tractor anyway at the time there was on old TS 250 sitting in the corner of the shed & it was obviously it hadn't been running for a long time, On the day when I was doing the work on his tractor I didn't have the opertunity to hit him up about the bike but every time I drove past that farm I thought of that old TS so yesterday I called in only to find that he no longer lived there but lucky enough his daughty & her husband do so as it goes he drops in every arvo to feed the chooks & give his dogs a run so I waited, he rolls up we have a yarn & I drive off with the old TS in the back of my ute. Today I go down to have a play with the old girl, shes locked up so pull the plug put a bit of kero down the plug hole 10 min later put her in top gear rock her back & forward & she's free, try for spark all good but the plugs not to flash so go to the box of shit under the bench pull out one that shows all the right signs , try the fuel tap ? no good the bowl on the tap disinegrates in my hands so squirt some fuel down the plug hole then get the little machine oil bottle fill it up with 2 stroke & shove it into the fuel hose, free the choke up & no bullshit 2nd kick & she's running & well, run one bottle of fuel through her pump the what looks like the original tyres up fill the machine oil bottle up with fuel again & go for a blast up & down the street and it did surprise me how well it went got some tow & my usual ride is a 490 Maico so I dont mind a bit of sting & I must admit I was impressed with the perfomance anyway I just thought I'd share that with the forum as I loved it Cheers Lou

All to true, it's why Iv'e stayed away, to many posts that don't need to be posted' the old saying if you havn't got anything constructive or nice to say don't say anything, But if you have got a beef with someone go behind the sheltershed and sort it out it should't be done on the forum Cheers Lou

Maico / Re: maico 490 over rated
« on: August 25, 2009, 02:23:16 pm »
I own & ride one & I must agree with all the others who have ridden one that the do instill confidence as did my last maico ( 75 250 ) There a good stable fast bike make no mistake. I did read somewhere that one of the gun yamaha riders from the early eightys not sure if it was Hanna anyway who ever it was got to ride Rick Doerty's 490 maico & he said that if he rode that bike in it's time he would'nt want to get back on his yamaha raedinto that what you will but I know as long as I'm involved in the sport I'll be keeping mine, just a pity I couldn't ride it as fast as I would like to Cheers Lou
