Bike Talk / Re: spoke gauge question
« on: January 09, 2012, 01:08:42 pm »
10gauge is 3.2mm. most common thread is an impreial thread, they also use a metric thread on a lot of euro bikes and fine metric on modren CR/CRF's rear wheels.

Tech Talk / Re: How serious is a cracked rim?
« on: August 03, 2008, 02:21:02 pm »
You have to remember that there are an average of 36 spokes holding the rim together on the inside and a tyre on the outside. So long as the wheel is in good nic(ie spokes not lose) it should be ok.
I raced my sidecar for several seasons with a crackered rear rim and never had a problem.

Why is it that we have this big country and we build pissy little tracks? And a small country like NZ they have Big open tracks? ???

Thanks for that Jared,I will send you an email soon about the other parts Ill need.

It sounds like my tank is at about the same stage as yours Graeme, I'm not that fussy about the colour, but if someone points you in the right direction its that bit easier!

Graeme do you know what the name of the Red you used? as i still need to paint the on the VR. I've got a sign writer(old school mate)lined up to do the "MONTESA" freehand with a brush .

Tech Talk / Re: Koni Shocks servicing
« on: November 19, 2007, 11:17:02 pm »
Some of the old Koni had very small holes in the damping piston, they get blocked very easily. A good service should bring them back to life!(Hoey Racing 0882623600 approx.$80pr)
