General Discussion / Re: 2019 Broadford Bonanza
« on: June 01, 2019, 05:38:45 pm »
The MX track was in great condition, and was kept this way the whole weekend. However the MX entries were down.
What do the MX fraternity want to increase numbers at the Moto Cross section of the Bonanza  2020?
This is a serious question as the organisers of the Bonanza are keen on making more of the MX area, and are open to suggestions.
Please respond.

G'Day mate..
Maybe for 2020 make the mx entries open to pre 2000 2 stroke bikes.
Flat rate mx entry of $25 as an example... plus licences if required to generate more numbers and interest in what the event has to offer.
Run upto pre 85 in the first half of the hour eg 9 til 930 then rotating 85 to pre 2000 onwards 930-10.
Food for thought.
Is there hoses for hand watering where is required?

Surely the money the road and speedway brings to the table is generous..
A couple of basic steps in my opinion would be to:
1-put the responsibility on us riders and friends/family (if they wish) to attend to the areas that need watering by hand after a nice track prep as we see fit.
2- Mx track entry is free for 2019!! With the growing numbers at speedway and road circuit, surely this is plausible... plus the day licence cost if required. Make this known Australia wide a long way in advance. This will make the decision to make the trip a little more enticing. Bring back the MX numbers!!

The Mx track was extremely good Saturday morning, there was hardly any dust, it was super tacky and fun.....then the sprinklers came on and slaughtered the best conditions i have experienced at Broadford. The young lads that obviously spin a lot of laps and are fit were super impressive pounding out fast laps. But for the average punter like me that hardly rides it takes the fun factor out of it when the sprinklers water random sections that destroy it. I am always one to jump on a hose and water the needed bits at any track over the years, i almost wonder if hoses would be a better option there. Thanks to all involved that made the effort for track prep for us, track was insane until sprinkler warfare.

Nebo, with standard 81 490gs forks, what oil and pressure is a good base setting?

Hoppy, are you building a 250Gs?  I am interested to know who you use for parts. i really would like the gloss red plastics for my 490gs but can't seem to locate anyone who has them. Chippy is a legend, he can only get the satin (original) finish.

Hats off to the crew for a MX track in prime condition for us to ride today. Had a blast.
The vinduro loop was a shocker, hopefully a new location or something for next year.
