General Discussion / Re: SNAKE TALES (TAILS?)
« on: November 24, 2016, 07:04:41 am »
We have lots of Brown snakes round here at The River, we've lost two dogs to the bloody things over the years. In the hills or by the River we leave 'em alone, in our house yard, different story !! Redbelly's are welcome, they are pretty cool dudes, they keep the numbers of rats and mice down.

I've had a couple of XT / TT motors with a broken cam chain guide,  the one on the opposite side to the tensioner.

Thanks for the pics, Dennis, However !! The # 786 Longtracker is Les Lewis' bike, powered originally by a TR, TD ? 350 road racing engine, now a 250, and built by Charlie Edwards. Nigel Boocock rode it at the Bendigo half mile in 1975 and won the meeting on it. Charlie and Nigel took it to England for the  Grass-track meetings over there, the Poms promptly banned it !! The Bryant Special  you refer to was there, Cliffy Patton rode the giant killing 125cc twin Longtracker in the races. The sound of Les' twin when he gave it some stick was delightful !! Great pics mate !! Les told me the gearing that he was running on the day was Morgan Mile gearing, a bit long for the 610 metre Fairbairn circuit !!!

Here's Booey and Charlie with the bike in it's original guise, carrying Charlie's #789 back in the '70s

And here's Doug Bryant, Wayne Bryant and KP with the 125 Twin at the meeting

Bennie, I think, in fact I'm sure that there is a Feast family member on that page, might be worth an enquiry

Wow, what a day at Nepean for the Sunday Slide, we were pitted with Yamaico Pete with his ex Springer Rotax and John with his Bullys, Alvin was there with his SC 500, Geoff Watto with his Weslakes, I was near in heaven :). Wally was there, taking pics, Firko had a couple of bikes there, Neil, me old sparring partner at Boxers Creek  there as well, Slides was there with the BWP mob,it really was old home week

The star of the show, for me anyway, was the bike pictured, Bro Jim's duplex BSA framed 1954 all Alloy HS 500 Ariel,  a lovely bike, heaps of long-stroke boondi, and it went where ya pointed it, thanks Jim.

Thanks to Roosta and Andy for a TOP day...... Mark Staudinger pic
