I have a 83 PE 175, not so good down low but when you keep the revs up its quite good,  very nimble in the tight stuff but it's a single shock. I have a 80 PE 250, it pulls real well down low,  my choice of the 2 for power delivery,  it would have been great if the 250 carried  on for another year or 2 and they built a single shock floater.

Hope it helps.

Fantastic choice in the PE i have two 80 250T and a 83 175D they are very reliable,  just keep up the maintenance, run them on castor just because it smells great and reminds you of the 80s. What model is your PE?

Good to see you had a good day,  hope you can make it next year with a few mates.  I'm still here sitting around the camp fire after sweep riding the modern 8 hour, the track today was excellent,  it would have been awesome to have the old bikes today, but that's the nature rolls.

Hi all,  we are almost there.

Sign in is from 8.00am till 9.00am riders briefing 9.45 and racing from 10.00am till 1.00pm.

Anyone riding the non competitive Enduro take off straight after the competitive riders,  track open till 3.00pm.

If you are a single rider and want a partner, that can be arranged,  so head along and enjoy a great days riding.

Camp Saturday night and kick back around the campfire and talk about the great ride you had and tall story's from the good old days.

See you there.

Cheers Pete

What a great day at Wedderburn for the modern 3 hour yesterday, the track was a bit slick, but as the day went on It just got better. Can't wait to see some old bikes tearing it up this Saturday.

The big start.

The airplane runway, to clear the plug, big bore heaven.

Picking up KTM parts.

The clean up and ready for next Saturday

You will have to have a re match Nathan,  i hope you and Rod are looking at having another go this year.

Well to see an XR 250 clean up last year was impressive,  clean consistent riding pays off.  The small bikes go well in the tight single track stuff,  but Wedderburn has some nice open areas with long straights where your flat out in top gear and big open sweeping corners.  Something for everyone.

I hope to make a start on one for my 80 model tomorrow if the boss is not watching, I have one to copy from so that makes it easy.

Good job, let me know how you go and post a photo.  Once your done measure the clearance from the chain to the case saver,  then I'll have a reference when i get around to making one.

Don't worry about fitness Ekka you can kick back after it and have a few cold cans, camp the night and watch or enter the 8 hour the next day with the crazy modern blokes.

Anyone interested in riding the pony and doesn't have a partner, just show up and a partner could be arranged.

The vintage track should be around a 20min a loop, I'm heading up there this weekend so i should have a report on the track.

The modern 8 hour loop is apparently around 50mins on a modern bike.

Mine is a 83 175 D i think they are different, I'll just start with a cardboard cut out and go from there. I'll have a look around to see if one is out there some where,  but probably not.

I might have to find out how to make one up before i try and fit my new cover.  I made a bracket and side stand for my PE 175 D is not bang on but you would have to look close to realize it's not original.

Your right,  my rear lug is damaged,  probably the one that always gets damaged.  I have a brand new sprocket cover for it, i should put it on and hopefully it doesn't get smashed.  I have 2 broken covers,  maybe i should put one of those back on and save the good one for a rainy day.
