Yep, had a repair done on the old one but it’s not pretty, if it holds up it will be my race cover, bike is very original and I will keep searching for a good one. I reckon someone out there is sitting on one.

Hi sports fans, l need a replacement clutch cover for my YZ400D as mine has been damaged. 76 or 77 model 250 or 400 covers should all fit. Let me know if you have one you would part with. Cheers.

Thanks OTH for the reply, yes the internet has a few posts showing how to mod parts from other Yamaha models, currently trying to get my hands on a bronze worm gear to replace the failed plastic job. Hopefully that will come off for me or I will have to get the tools out.

Thanks Iain. Just needed that bit of reassurance, don't need to be buying the wrong parts.
Will be racing VMX in NSW with Heaven so this is for the new pre 75 ride.

Ok folks, hoping the Yamaha experts on here can sort this out for me quickly. As you all know Yamaha 360 pistons are thin on the ground, I am building a RT2/3 motor and wondering if I can run an MX360 piston or DT360A piston in an RT engine? Grateful for any help.

Hey overthehill, I think wear to the cover where the shaft comes through may be partly to blame, allowing the shaft to lean over, gears don't mesh properly, things lock up, takes the end off the spring where it fits into shaft. One or two other parts in the kick start mech' also look to have had a hard life. Have sourced a complete kick start mech' in good nick so just need a fresh cover and hopefully I'm back on the bike.

Hi race fans, I am chasing a clutch cover for the old IT, had trouble with breaking kick starter springs (five in five weeks) and last time out also cracked the clutch cover. So research tells me its the same cover on IT and YZ 250, 465 and 490 from 1980 through 83. I'm in Newcastle but happy to pay postage for a unit in good condition.

Hey Mick, from what I can tell your clutch 2A7, could be 1978 DT 175E.
Also , I cant make it to Canowindra so will have to drop over to check out your clutch to see if we can make it work.

Clutch coming out of our 125G has 1w1 stamped on it. if we can find a replacement and we need to change the gear on it to 62 tooth we have one here. (wish ya could get this stuff off the shelf)
