Can't believe I cannot find a flywheel puller for this in Australia...its the 8 hole disc type probably universal with a lot of other early 2 strokes. Anyone have any info to help?

Suzuki / 1986 RM250 rotor nut left hand thread?

Manual doesn't say anything about the rotor nut on a 1986 RM250.

Anyone know for sure if its LH or RH thread?

Also I bought a rotor puller from ebay but it doesn't look like its going to fit - its a 27x1.0 Lh Ext. but was listed as correct for 86 RM250.

Appreciate comments on that too :)

Ha mine just blew a big end I'm pretty sure you don't want it :) I'm looking for a spare tank to run on the track as my tank is in very good condition and I don't want to wreck it.

Jumbo - have you given up the search for the rest of the bike ? :) ie  are you passing the tank onto a loving home yet?

Fishing for whether there are any recommended builders that look after the old 2 strokes, I have a RM125a that needs a loving hand (and a knowledgeable head). Cheers.

Suzuki / Re: 86 RM250 Exhaust Valve question

So finally, this valve only comes into play at high RPM and only when the engine is running ie there is no movement of the valve if you just turn over engine using the kickstarter??

Suzuki / 86 RM250 Exhaust Valve question

Should have paid more attention when I disconnected the exhaust valve when I did the top end on this. I have it back together but can anyone tell me whether I have it right.

To me its not right because the spring appears to do nothing ie there no spring effect when the valve turns.

Love to get some advice on this.

Got a fair bit of sideways movement on this RM250 big end. Latter part of the vid I'm pulling vertically on the piston up and down and not much there which is how we want it but what does everyone reckon on the sideways movement, is that excessive??

Thanks for that info. Appreciate it. It was confusing and I kind of understand but all pre 85's look good with or without lights and certainly look like they are from the era. I have a PE175 with just a plate on front (dirt track) but I have the light for it so no problem strapping it on. Hope to join you all at some stage.

Whats with the headlight requirement if no rego required? I read somewhere they don't even need to work. Can someone elaborate on this puzzle?
