eBay Finds / Re: Where Yamaha's not blue in 92 ?

The two stroke WR"s were white.    All great bikes.   I have a WR 200  that can easily keep pace with a current WR450 in the bush.   It's lighter and more nimble than the four strokes and has a six speed box. A great little bike.    The four strokes do have longer legs over 100 k's.

Riding Spots / Re: Victoria

Was just wondering if any one here has tried Gunbower Island as a riding spot.   Its a large state forest that runs along the Murray River.   It's mainly flat fire trails but there are plenty of them.   The Island runs from Gunbower, Cohuna and Koondrook.    Ground ranges from deep rutted tracks to fast open sections of clay or sand.   Its got something for every one.   I,d like to hear from anyone else  who rides here.    Its worth the trip from Melbourne and is a great place for a weekend away.

Introductions / Hi from miggsy

Hi,

New to forum,   Recently got hold of a couple of 1980-83 xt 250's.   One was set up with YZ front and rear shocks which makes the bike very useable.   I will be doing it up over next few weeks.   ATM I have bike runinng and have picked best parts from the two and mocked up to get an idea of what the bike wil look like.   Engines a little noisy but runs fine and still has plenty of punch for a 250 fourstroke so I will keep the running one as is and rebuild the second motor ready to swap over when the time comes.   I would be keen to hear from any one with old XT's and am interested in performance mods.   If any one has any ideas give drop me a line.   Thanks Mark.
