Suzuki / RM250
« on: May 01, 2014, 11:38:15 pm »
I've just bought an RM250 frame #13043 engine #38439. I figure I have a 250A frame and 250B motor. Need some expert confirmation.

Going to miss Casey on the bikes this season. Interesting that Valentino on his new Yamaha was out qualified by his shitty old Ducati !!!

Beware. These have a habit of breaking the crankcase above the counter shaft sprocket typically the engine number is broken off and sometimes a lot worse. The sprocket cover looks to be covering up possible damage on this one.

Fantastic memories Dodgy. Loved that TZ700/750 outfit of Dean Taylors. What a beast.

Thanks fellas. It is never going to be right i know but something reasonably tasteful is better than the frame hanging in my shed since 1976. The motor is in a slider I raced in my youth and will be replaced with either a TM250 or 400
Tank fabrication sounds like the way to go. What I would give to have those skills.

What would be the closest shape and dimension tank to the RH/ RN. There was a banged up one on US Ebay a while back Buy It Now for $700. In hind sight I should have bought it.

Not fussed about 75 model. I have an 74 RN frame, swing arm, air box, rear guard, front wheel, RH triple clamps and a RH motor kicking around and was thinking of building something. From memory the RN front forks had a different OD between the top and bottom clamp. Was this the case with the 74 RH ? Any advise or ideas would be welcome.

Ossa ST1 or copy. Ossa produced a small number of these using Champion frames.

Is a 74 RH frame and swing arm the same as a 74 RN frame. If not what are the differences ??
Info would be appreciated

Great image Travis. My first time at the skids when I was about 16 I watched your dad wheel that bike out of the pit gate at Brooklyn and instantly fell in love with it and  H2's. I now own four h2 road bikes and don't think I will ever get them out of my system !! I was lucky enough to swing on one at Avalon one night .So light and fast. If you have more images I would love to see them.

I saw this one on a trailer at Phillip Island recently. Squish band head mod. and it appears to have a spacer under the barrel. Would have been a weapon mid 70's. I recon it it is being sold by Neil Bird.
