Wanted / Honda MT 250 Road gear
« on: December 23, 2014, 02:50:06 pm »
Hey guys ,maybe someone has these in a box hidden away in the back of the shed somewhere.  I have a MT250 that I want to get back on the road so this is what I don't have -tacho, speedo,  headlight and taillight with  brackets to suit both-Handle bar switchgear and whatever else you can think of that I may need.I also would like a rear mudguard, a chain guard, and chain tensioner and the rear  indicator bracket that forms the loop [passenger grab handle] at the end of the frame..Thats about it for now..Pm me and I'll send you my number to discuss what you may have..cheers flatout

What a dilema :-\ wish I had your problems,Just its origin conjours up thoughts of viking ships and fair maidens.Just to think that all her metal parts are made from the finest steel in the world not to mention her century old heritage and racing pedigree.Restore her to an age where Husqvqrna was still a Swedish made icon, and she will give you commitment and loyalty. She"s a Swedish beauty. And when you throw a leg over her and feel her throbbing body beneath you  ;)..enuff of this bullshit. There is always room in the shed for one more, and like you said B4 sell the KTM,that way you get to spend more time in the shed with ur girlfriends.. Cheers ST52..

Tech Talk / Re: Re Anodising rims
« on: October 15, 2012, 09:26:39 pm »
Its true anodising your original rims can be more expensive than buying new ones..The option I decided on was to take my originals to a metal polisher and have them professionally polished to mirror finish which costs >$120.00 ea on a good day, and cote them with a good silicon spray. If you try to achieve a better finish than what the polishers give you ,you will only dissapoint yourself..Got mine done over a year ago and they still look GR8.just a light wipe over with a soft cloth and your done.

Its not about the pissy price or the pissy part..and its not an isolated case I would rather order my parts here ,however 90% of the time my vintage parts I want to order new are either NLA ,obsolete or priced over the top..My new tyres and tubes -oil,and most disposable items do come from here..The parts I order for my 08'' road bike are always on time and reasonably priced..Some cater better than others for vintage bikes..I for one will continue to buy parts like the thousands of people who buy online everyday from overseas..and yes the internet and ebay have opened up a whole new world for the vintage bike scene..other wise most of our vintage bikes would still be sitting in the corner of the shed gathering dust..Hey mate..

Suck it in Jerry..I went to my local Yamaha Shop on Monday wanting price and availability on an exhaust gasket for my 74'' MX250.A young guy serves me and then proceeds to look up the part on his computer mumbling over and over you would have to be pretty lucky to find one of those..Anyway he found the part and gave me a price of $11.95..That same afternoon I jumped on Ebay UK and found the same gasket for GB1.95 [$AU.3.00 [ with $AU6.00 postage..however additional items cost no more to send.. so for AU$14.00 I have two gaskets and postage from England..as opposed to two gaskets costing 2x 11.95 from my local Yamaha shop..You work it out..

I had my Magnesium Yamaha front and rear brake plates powder coated about 15 months ago in Precious Silver..Cant see any form of surface corrosion or imperfections as yet, in fact they look as good now as the day that they were done..Could be that the before process wasn't carried out properly.
