I sometime wonder if Industry is keeping some well guarded secrets. Imagine a battery the size of a cigarette packet that runs for 20 years and produces 240volts. Such technology would change the world and also change the world Geo-political balance. I wonder.

Maybe the resident YSS specialist and chime in. Though if the shocks are rebuildable, the internal adjustments can be undertaken.

Yamaha / Re: Motocross seat conversion for Yam DT1?
« on: March 06, 2019, 05:00:15 pm »
All sorted now, Ron Whitmore helped me out with an old RM125A,B,C seat that only needed a slight reshape of the front mount bracket.

Pit-Replica in Tailand are making me a cover with the 'RM125' removed from the side and putting YAMAHA across the back.

Are you able to post a photo of the seat? I have a DT250B and this seat maybe an option. Thanks.

Good article, but I see the beginning of the small under-powered drum brakes. My 250B has a 160mm front and 150mm rear, compared to my KDX175 which had 110mm front and the KDX200 at 120mm.  I reckon if they had stuck to big drums the disk brake evolution would have been deferred for sometime. I also like cush hubs. Under very slipper conditions they work well. Love my old honda XL350.

General Discussion / Re: Pressing out swing arm axle

Prevention is good. But in my case the bike had been parked for 18years. An electrical problem got the better of the owner. So these  problems become the challenges for new owners.

Alternatively one could deploy air tools or use a rotary hammer. The constant banging usually breaks the bonds which bind the axles. We removed a stubborn axle with a rotary hammer and it took about 10minutes before the bonds let go and axle started to move. No collateral damage.
