For Sale / old modified BSA Goldstar/B33/B31 Swingarm Petrol Tank
« on: February 13, 2014, 01:38:50 pm »
For Sale - an old heavily modified Swingarm model BSA Goldstar/B33/B31 Petrol Tank.
Condition- the photo's tell the story, looks to have been narrowed heavily, also uses a cap from an oil tank I think, it has provisions for dual petcocks too. I think it would make a great tank for something not quite original or pristine, lots of patina on this. I bought i recently for my rigid B33 but the tunnel is really only suitable for the swingarm frames.
Location- Hawthorn, Melbourne
Price- $60
Payment- Cash on Pickup, otherwise I can post anywhere at the buyers expense.
Contact- via nick.umek[AT]gmail.com or call 0437 9525 87

Regards,
Nick

excellent! thank you very much!

My bike is a bit earlier and has the terrible pressed steel primary cases so I'll have to invent a different solution for mounting the LHS peg but should be able to copy the RHS design set up off the gearbox cover easily enough.

regards,
Nick

VMX247 do you have any more pictures of the BB's footpeg set up?

I have a '52 ZB33 in a '49 rigid frame which I'm setting up for dirt track, a friend gave me some CRF450 footpegs but i haven't got far enough through the build to figure out how I'm going to set them up on the bike.

how is the rhs peg mounted to the primary? and i like the lhs side set up with the plate mounted off the gearbox cover.

I'm still studying so the budget doesn't stretch far enough to permit a new tank, as I said ideally something a bit beat up would be ideal as it'll have to have some slight modifications to fit anyhow, i do have an old A65 Hornet fibreglass tank but it just doesn't sit right on the frame, they're too long in the bottom, the Victor tank has a similar shape but is a bit shorter so should look much neater. I'll keep my eye on eBay, i have seen quite a few in the US but shipping is usually around $70 for something as big as a tank. nick  :P

Hello lads (and ladies)

I'm on the lookout for one of these tanks to go on a B33 dirt tracker project of mine, the tank does not have to be perfect, in fact I'd probably rather salvage a damaged one off someone if possible.

I'm located in Melbourne. Best way to contact me is on 0437 9525 87 after 6pm week nights or any time on weekends, if you'd prefer to email please PM me.

regards,
Nick

yep, The main difference is in the flywheel, on the M21 the crankpin pin is located further from the centre of the flywheels,
thus giving a longer stroke, the conrods are the same, as is the piston diameter, but the gudgeon pin sits higher on the M21 piston, the Barrels are also the same except for a slightly larger input port, and a bigger carb on the M21.

G'day All,

I'm a young bloke with ambitions of racing my rigid '52 BSA B33 500cc OHV on the dirt track however I need a few bits to complete it (and also a '49 BSA M21 600cc SV which I'm building for my fathers 60th birthday present)

Wanted:

Fork legs to suit 8” half width brake
B33 Barrel (pre '53 style)
plunger/rigid model 4spd gearbox
Lucas MO1 magdyno (dead or alive)
Alloy head to suit M20/M21 (can swap for a very good cast iron one)
Engine drive sprocket/cush drive assembly (4 lobe type)
inner and outer primary drive cases (yes those horrible pressed steel ones)
petrol tank to suit M20
if anyone has a set of M20 girders let me know

best to contact me on 0437 9525 87 after 6pm weeknights or any time on weekends, otherwise nick.umek{AT}gmail.com

also happy to chat about BSA's if anyone else is building them, i have a fair bit of literature on them kicking about which I'm happy to share.

I'm down in Melbourne
