No but you could fit the long stroke Conrod maybe and go to 280 your bore should be 74 !

There was something about those maicos .. & i use to sell KTM -SWM & did a couple of the 79 -80 big reds , they were quite special you came into a corner  out in the bush 4 a breast laid it down and it just tracked if you put it on line that's were it stayed.. if you were passed by Laurie, chris  or Geoff how it tracked was a pleasure to see yep i know good riders it was just the pinnacle of a lot of hard work  nothing is perfect forever !!

so i correct my statement Australian  prefix swm were shipped here with inline forks until i think tf3  81 when a nsw distributor took over from Bert Flood.....Gear box oil we always used ATF ie to lighten the clutch operation never a problem

sorry they didnt... only mx had leading axle... as for the 250 -175 you have a short stroke engine with a 74mm boar not the real 280 which was a long stroke  are you from usa as your frame prefix states? oh i was one of the weird swm riders in the era sold them 7 years

you need  full length of welding wire compress fork look down inside you will see top of piston with holes in you use the wire to push down the shims to let the  oil through leval 150mm .oil mix 5 wt
