Kawasaki / Re: Flat slide carby for KLX250

I ran a Delorto pumper on my KLX back in the day, it was great, paired with a super trap power pipe it ran like a dream and got rid of the notorious KLX flat spot.
I now run a standard carby with a 350 main and the needle on the middle notch. I have done all the mods ie; 262 piston, race cam staintune pipe, drilled holes in the air box, ride with my tounge hanging out of the left side of my mouth and the old girl gets along pretty well.

Kawasaki / Re: KLX crank and con rob assembly
« on: July 13, 2015, 07:32:22 pm »
Thanx for the info Grouty.
I have a kz/road bike engine , not sure what year it is but the crank is different in two aspects ie; the bearing on the cam drive side has a larger id and the shaft on the clutch drive side has a keyway as opposed to a spline on the klx. This engine doesn't have a lecky start but does have a balance shaft. Cheers. Brett

Kawasaki / KL C Head gasket
« on: December 04, 2014, 08:06:41 am »
Hi Guys
Just pulled the head off the 81 klx to find the head gasket has collapsed and gotten caught between piston and bore and completely stuffed the piston. I have 2 questions. 1 is this a common problem if so how is it to be avoided and 2 I am thinking of doing the 270 cc mod do I use a standard head gasket or is there a different ie bigger one. Also who can supply said head gasket.  Cheers Bretto
